I photographed my very first Sweet 16 back in Sept. and I figured I would post my very first blog about it...better late than never. The party was for my friends sister, and when I was asked if I could be there to capture her day, I didn't hesitate. Needless to say it was way outside of my comfort zone. My main subjects are landscapes, and although they change, they don't move around much. Fast forward to the end of the party, I was so glad to be able to be a part of Marie's very special milestone birthday. I had such a great time!! It was a wonderful experience and I learned a lot of new things. In order to be as prepared as I could be for this event, even with the little training and equipment I had, I knew I had to purchase a speedlite flash. This new flash was very daunting at first (and still is) but I practiced until I felt confident enough I'd be able to get acceptable shots. The party was four hours long and I took over 600 shots, there were certainly plenty of great memories captured. I hope they bring smiles to her and her family's faces for decades to come. Hopefully that event was just the beginning and will allow me the opportunity to be a part of many more special occasions in the future!
